American Actor, Comedian and Promoter Jay Davis

Jay Davis is an American actor, stand-up comedian and comedy promoter/producer who garnered nationwide attention after appearing in Dane Cook's Tourgasm, a 30-day cross-country-tour-turned-reality-show which also included Cook, Gary Gulman and Robert Kelly, and was given an 8-episode run on HBO.

I first met Jay over 4 years ago through mutual friends and he invited me along to shoot on his short comedy film in the Hollywood Hills. (If you search through my blog over previous years, you will find some of the great material we caught from the film) He is one of the most giving guys in the industry you are ever likely to come across.

If he can help you out in any way he does, and with me it has been no different. Catching up with Jay when I landed back in LA, he invited me to his shows, introduced me to some amazing people to work with and gave me an incredible opportunity to shoot at one of his long time friends, Director Mars Callahan's home. He is truly an incredible person to those around him and deserves all the continued success he inevitably gets

For those of you that didn't know, Jay began performing comedy from an early age, and went to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment. After some film and television roles, he began hosting shows and doing a regular stand-up routine at Dublin's, an Irish pub formerly in Hollywood. It was there that he met Dane Cook, when the comedian came in to join the recurring lineup.

These days, Jay's success continues as he performs stand-up comedy throughout the U.S., both with and without his Tourgasm colleagues. In addition, he books, produces and hosts the long-running "Life of The Party" live stand-up comedy show, Tuesday nights at 10:00 p.m., at The Laugh Factory in Hollywood, California
