Australian Actor Hugh Sheridan
Hugh Sheridan is an Australian actor, musician and television presenter who is known for his most notable role as Ben Rafter in the television series Packed to the Rafters. He is a three-time Logie Award winner, who currently resides in LA.
I first touched base with Hugh prior to flying out to LA and lock something in that fit in with both of our busy schedules in the fortnight that I was in town, and finally dates matched and we got to shoot on a gorgeous LA afternoon in Culver City, Ca and produce some great footage.
Biography
Hugh was placed in acting classes at 5 years of age, but his formal training began when he was accepted in to the prestigious Bachelor of Dramatic Art Course at NIDA.
Whilst at NIDA, Hugh appeared in several productions including The Lost Echo for the Sydney Theatre Company. He has also worked with The Australian Ballet, The English National & The Paris Opera Ballet.
Straight after graduating from NIDA, Hugh was cast as 'Ben Rafter' in Australia's highest rating family drama - Packed to the Rafters, for which he received three Silver Logie Awards for Most Popular Actor, a 2013 Silver Logie Award nomination for Most Popular Actor, a 2011 Silver Logie nomination for Most Outstanding Actor, a Silver Logie Award for Most Popular New Male Talent and a Graham Kennedy Award nomination for Most Outstanding New Talent.
Hugh then went on to host and mentor on Network Ten's talent show, I Will Survive and then moved into a grittier role in the Seven Network telemovie Never Tear Us Apart, based on Australia's most successful band, INXS.
Hugh has also starred in the sold out, one man show, Newley Discovered, at the 2009 Adelaide Cabaret Festival. He performed the highly successful show at the Sydney Opera House and New York's Snapple Theatre in 2010 and received a Sydney Theatre Award nomination for Best Cabaret Production for Newley Discovered.
In late 2012, he starred alongside Geoffrey Rush and Magda Szubanski in the Gordon Frost production, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and received a Green Room Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance in the production.
These days Hugh resides in Los Angeles and has recently finished shooting an upcoming movie with Rebel Wilson and Liam Hemsworth.
